In short, Salesforce re-architected their Salesforce Customer 360 platform and other products to be more powerful and scalable. Hyperforce will allow Salesforce users to build and deploy applications on the public cloud infrastructure.

Introduction to Hyperforce

Bret Taylor, President and COO of Salesforce in Dreamforce to you 2020 shared that “Salesforce had been working on Hyperforce for the past two years. Salesforce considers Hyperforce as one of the major technological advancements since Mark and Parker created it 21 years ago.”

In order to be secure, Salesforce has hosted sensitive information of their customers for years in their own cloud. With the advent of cloud computing, Salesforce started moving its workloads to public clouds like Azure, AWS and GCP. Salesforce now want to give the same liberty to its customers. Hyperforce will enable B2B and B2C companies to choose where their data is hosted.

Bret shared “Every company right now is facing an imperative – to go, digital fast. Salesforce Hyperforce is a quantum leap forward in how Salesforce can accelerate our global customers’ digital transformation and empower them to grow, fast and at scale, on our trusted platform.”

In 2020 Salesforce focused a lot on developing tools, features that will help companies during pandemic. COVID-19 effectively changed the way we work. Salesforce is continuously supporting companies in all possible ways to grow amidst pandemic. Salesforce acquired Slack recently in line with this. Taylor went on and suggested Customer 360+ Slack as the means for companies to grow in new normal.

Idea Behind Hyperforce

– On Black Friday, Commerce cloud helped over 10M orders. These numbers speak for themselves.

Salesforce provides a single source of truth regarding customer data connecting multiple applications, business systems and devices.  It helps sales, marketing, customer service teams to do their jobs better.

The whole intention behind Hyperforce is to enable Salesforce customers to move their customer data from Customer 360 – i.e., from all products like Sales, Service, Marketing cloud and even connected applications to public cloud of their own choice.


With Hyperforce, companies get to pick which location data can be stored. Data can be stored locally, this will come in handy especially for organizations who need to comply with country specific regulations. For instance, companies in the public sector could benefit from this.


The best part about public cloud is its scalability and elasticity. Companies can consume compute resources on need basis, it applies to Hyperforce as well. You can deploy resources in public cloud in a faster and easier fashion. Salesforce implementation lifecycle will be reduced from months to days.


Security is a crucial factor when it comes to storing sensitive customer information. Hyperforce will give peace, you get to save data in world’s most trusted public cloud of your choice. You get to focus on business activities, leaving the security and privacy concerns to public cloud providers.

Hyperforce is live in India, Germany and will be rolled out in 10 countries in next year. Taylor mentioned that Salesforce has partnered with major public clouds in-order to enable the company to deliver service in every region across globe.

A live example of a company using Salesforce Hyperforce is Bharti AXA from India. They have upgraded their Salesforce platform, infrastructure to public cloud in India.

The move to Hyperforce will reduce Infrastructure hosting costs, efforts for Salesforce in the long run. Salesforce customers would also benefit from this move. It’s definitely a win-win situation.
